The Governing Board members of the Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS), under the auspices of UNESCO convened virtually on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT), the host organization to IRIS. The Board, comprising of the representatives from China, South Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Iran, and the UNESCO representative from France, were briefed on the two-year performance of IRIS.

The second meeting of UNESCO Category 2 Centers in Iran was hosted by and successfully held at the International Center for Qanat and Historic Hydraulic Structures (ICQHS) on December 15, 2024 in Yazd. The event, attended by directors and experts from UNESCO Category 2 Centers in Iran, as well as representatives of other related centers, UNESCO Tehran Office and the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, aimed to create a platform for sharing achievements and strengthening cooperation among these centers.

Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development, under the auspices of UNESCO (IRIS) with the cooperation of Science Park Administration (SPARK) and the National Information Technology Park (NITP) of Mongolia organized successfully a training and experience sharing program in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on 19th of August 2024. The event was held at the sideline of ASPA 27th Annual Conference.

Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) recently hosted distinguished guests from the Polytechnic University of Armenia, Kapan Branch, led by its Rector, on April 27, 2024.

On March 6, 2024, Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) welcomed a group of oil experts from Tajikistan. On February 14th, 2024, UNESCO Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development in Isfahan and Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) welcomed a delegation from Tatarstan, led by the Minister of Education and Science, and the First Deputy of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Business Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS), under the auspices of UNESCO with the cooperation and support of UNESCO Co-organized an International Workshop on “Sustainable Economic Growth through Establishing Science and Technology Parks” for developing countries.

The forthcoming international workshop on “Sustainable Economic Growth through Establishing Science & Technology Parks” is set to take place on the 27 to 29 of November 2023 in Isfahan Science and Technology Town. This event promises to be a significant gathering of experts, scholars, and enthusiasts in the field of Science and Technology Parks and Incubators.

Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubators and Science Park Development (IRIS) and National Elites Foundation co-organized Science and Technology Exchange Program (STEP) in Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT). In line with its mission to Facilitating knowledge transfer between public and private sectors in national and international levels, IRIS hosted top researchers and scientists from Islamic World on the 30th of September 2023.

In line with its mission to disseminate knowledge and Technology to young generations and to make them familiar with the concept of entrepreneurship, IRIS welcomed a group of 19 Chinese students from Tsinghua University on August 8th 2023. The students also got familiar with Iran’s Science and Technology Ecosystem.

Denmark Ambassador to Iran paid a visit to Isfahan science and Technology Town (ISTT) on the July 17th 2023. Mr. Jesper Vahr who has had a tenure of office as the Ambassador to Iran since 2020, met with the officials at ISTT to discuss ways of expanding ties between science parks in both countries.

As a part of its mission to facilitate technology transfer in the region, Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) helped the Nasr Al Dovaliye company, one of the private tenant companies in ISTT, organize the second business forum of Muscat in Isfahan in which there were hundreds of B2B meetings between Iranian high-tech companies and 40 Omani businesspeople.

Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) hosted a Russian delegation from Skolkovo Foundation on the 13th of MAY 2023. Skolkovo foundation which is a non-profit organization aims at creating a sustainable ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation, engendering a startup culture and encouraging venture capitalism in Russia.

The 17^th Sheikh Bahai National Technopreneurship Festival was held on the 10th and 11th of May 2023 at Abbasi Hotel in Isfahan. The event was hosted and organized by Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) and with the support and co-organization of Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) under the auspices of UNESCO.

In line with its mission, IRIS as the category II center of UNESCO is mandated to help facilitate knowledge transfer in the region. Therefore, IRIS has committed itself to address less privileged students and visually impaired children to make them familiar with the world of technology. To achieve this goal IRIS invited the nonprofit founder of Isfahan Mathematics House to discuss the possible ways of cooperation to make children familiar with innovation ecosystem and entrepreneurship.

Two newly appointed Iranian scientific attachés attended a meeting with IRIS representatives on the 25th of January 2023. Dr. Mehryar and Dr. Sarraf have been assigned as Scientific attaches to ASEAN countries, Oceania, China, Japan and Korea.

Along with its mission to help other developing countries establish their own science and technology parks and incubators, Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park development (IRIS), under the auspices of UNESCO renewed its MOU with ECO Science Foundation at the sideline of the fifth meeting of ECOSF Board of Trustees. The meeting was held in Isfahan, Iran on the 14th of February 2023.

Isfahan Science and Technology Park (ISTT) will host the 17th Sheikh Bahai Technopreneurship Festival (SHTF) with the direct support of Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) in May 2023.

A delegation of businesspeople from Armenia along with some of the representatives from Bosnia Chamber of Commerce visited Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) on the 14th of December 2022.

As a part of its mission, IRIS has taken measures to establish cooperation between technology companies in Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) and other Iranian STPs and the technopark in Uzbekistan. It also intends to prepare the ground for the development of Technology Incubators and Science Park there and to facilitate knowledge transfer.

Saleh Said Salem Al Masan, Undersecretary of Commerce and Industry and Investment, heading a business delegation from Oman paid a visit to Isfahan Science & Technology Town (ISTT) and IRIS. The delegation was composed of representatives from Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Industrial Estates Company, and CEOs of some Omani Companies on the 10th of November 2022.

The Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Dr. Mohamad Zolfigol appointed Dr. Ghasem Moslehi as the president of Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT).

Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic development – Dr. Mehdi Safari- paid a visit to Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) on 20th August 24, 2022. The visit also included an exhibition displaying the technological achievements of a number of k-based resident companies in ISTT.

Azra Fazal Pechuho- Pakistani Provincial Minister of Sindh for Health and Population Welfare- and her accompanying delegation visited Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) on the 8th of May 2022. Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) was invited to collaborate in the 4th joint training program on Science, Technology and Innovation Policy. BIO GEM Technology was transferred to South Korea

BIO GEM Technology is a water treatment method to reduce the sludges on the beds of rivers, lakes and wetlands.

This MOU was signed to transfer this technology to Eastern Asian countries specifically to South Korea, china and Vietnam.

On the first phase the technology was transferred to Chong Science and Technology park in Korea.

In line with its mission, Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) is going to host and organize a webinar on "Science parks and support for start-up companies in COVID-19 era".
The coronavirus outbreak has led to massive disruptions on the global social and economic system. Some start-ups and enterprises are in extreme difficulty and the decline in economic activity will push many out of business. However, at the same time there are some that have worked hard and even flourished during this situation.

A webinar on Covid-19 was held on 19 May 2020, hosted by UNESCO Jakarta Office focusing on the role of the scientific family during and after the pandemic.
Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) took park in this webinar as a category II UNESCO center and so did Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) as the center’s host and main domestic contributor on issues concerning Covid-19.

The Director of Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) participated in the UNESCO Regional Strategic Coordination Meeting in Indonesia from 16-19 September 2019. Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) has many signed Memorandums of Understanding with various different organizations working to develop the formation of technology start-ups and to create a network of experienced individuals internationally to broaden their reach and knowledge. On Saturday, November 24th of 2018 the Mayor and City Council member of Baalbek, Lebanon visited Isfahan Regional center for technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) and Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT). Having traveled to Isfahan, Iran by the invitation of Isfahan Municipality to further familiarize the representatives of its sister city with Isfahan and its many socio-economic attributes; they were directed for a visit to ISTT as the supportive knowledge based ecosystem established within the city perimeters and its UNESCO category II center (IRIS).

The 35^th IASP World Conference on STPs (Science and Technology Parks) and AOIs (Areas of Innovation) was hosted by ISTT with the support and partnership of Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development under the auspices of UNESCO (IRIS) in content and execution. UNESCO has offered its support to the development of Innovation Acceleration Platforms in Indonesia within the framework of the UNESCO –University-Industry Science Partnership Program and as such has organized a two day workshop with support from Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS) in Knowledge-Transferring and the financial support of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The Governing Board members whom came from the member countries including Malaysia, China, South Korea, Iran and UNESCO itself, convened in Shanghai’s International Business Incubation Center (IBI) to hold IRIS’s 9th Governing Board Meeting.

The Caspian Entrepreneurial Youth Forum organized by the Almaty Management University was held in Aktau, Kazakhstan from the 19th to the 23rd of September, 2017. Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) as a member organization of the Caspian Sea region that has been active in the field of entrepreneurism and innovation participated in this event. Fazal Abbas Maken, Pakistan’s Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Retired Lieutenant General Naweed Zaman, Rector of National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) and Dr. Raheel Qamar, Rector of COMSATS Institute of Information & Technology visited ISTT on their exploratory tour of Iran’s science and technology ecosystem on Thursday, 27th of July, 2017.

This year as is customary with Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) to annually organize a national technopreneurship festival, the 13th Sheikh Bahai National Technopreneurship Festival was held from the 27th to the 28th of April, 2017at Isfahan City Center Complex.

In continuation of the official visit to the Republic of Cuba, by the Iranian authorities and the vast capacity for collaborations between Iran and Cuba in the field of science and technology, a high ranking envoy consisting of Fidel Angel Castro Diaz – Balart, Scientific Advisor to the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba and the Vice-President of the Cuban Academy of Sciences, Jose Raul Castro Smirnov, and Ariel Mariano Felipe Gomez, experts in the field of Nano-Technology traveled to Iran.

We are happy to announce that during the last general assembly of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), it was decided that the IASP international conference for 2018 will be hosted in Isfahan, at Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT).

Dr. Ali Morteza Birang, the deputy for international affairs and technological exchange of the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology visited Isfahan Science and Technology Town on the 9th of August 2016. Upon his arrival at ISTT he first attended a meeting with its management team.

A small delegation from the Omani Chamber of Commerce of the Al Batinah province visited Isfahan Science and Technology Town on the 28th of July, 2016. This visit followed the establishment of close ties between the Innovation Park of Muscat (IPM) and Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS), and also in continuation of an orientation tour of the sultanate of Oman for a delegation of Iranian companies settled at ISTT.

On Friday 22nd of July 2016, a delegation of Iranian ambassadors residing outside of Iran came to visit Isfahan Science and Technology Town. The principle reason behind the visit was to familiarize the ambassadors with the main activities of the town, its parks and incubators, and UNESCO category II Center.

Isfahan Regional Center for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS), organized a Training workshop with the title of “Developing the Capabilities for Internationalization” in collaboration with Reddal Consultancy Group. The workshop which was an initial result of the negotiations between IRIS and Finland’s Reddal, was held in Isfahan Science and Technology Town from the 10th to the 11th of July, 2016.

In line with its mission on training and technical assistance, IRIS organized a training workshop on ‘’Marketing of High-Tech Products’’ with the cooperation of ISTT on May 26^th, 2016.

A half day workshop held in Isfahan Science and Technology Town ( ISTT ) on 28th May on ‘’ Technology Portfolio Planning’’ by Dr. Oliver Yu, president and CEO of STARS Group and also consulting associate professor of Stanford University.

Soroush Alimoradi, ISTT’s former Secretary General of the National Sheikh Baha’i Technopreneurship Festival, and the former Director of ISTT’s ICT Incubation Center passed away last Wednesday morning, 15th of June 2016 at the age of 56. He died after a heroic battle with cancer.

The first rounds of the training workshops of IRIS were held at the same time with ISTT's 6th Sheikh Bahai Technopreneurship festival with the attendance of international instructors from Japan, Germany and Korea. The 3 workshops were held in the non-competition section of the festival that aimed at fostering the culture of technopreneurship and increasing the skills and promoting the industry managers, managers of incubators and academics in Abbasi Hotel in Isfahan on May 13th to 15th, 2010. Designing and developing the logo of the center

The logo has been inspired by UNESCO logo. With regard to the identity of the center which is a category 2 center of UNESCO and located and hosted by ISTT, the logo was designed in a form which is a combination of UNESCO logo and ISTT logo as follow. Meanwhile it is a symbol of development and innovation flourishing and it embeds a cultural relation with the counties in the region. Read more

Official inauguration ceremony

The official inauguration ceremony of the center was held in May 22nd , 2010 with the attendance of Dr. Lidia Brito, the Director of Science Policy & Sustainable Development of UNESCO; Dr. Yoslan Nur, Senior Program Specialist in science Policy & Sustainable Development of UNESCO; and the international experts: Prof. Deog- Seong Oh, from S. Korea; Prof. Yasuo Miyakawa from Japan; and Prof. Eberhard Becker from Germany; also the ambassadors and representatives of ECO countries in Iran and high ranking provincial and government authorities.
